Security & Prosperity - Who is the beholder?

The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America claims to “Promoting Growth, Competitiveness and Quality of Life” while “maintaining sovereignty”.

Coincidentally, the United States Constitution states that the purpose of Government it to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.” The way that this is accomplished is through adherence to our Constitution.

Now, whey am I bringing this up? Well, take into account the recent Quebec police confession of agent provocateurs at the SPP Conference. Such a thing was obviously not endorsed by the U.S. Constitution when it was written in the first amendment that we citizens have the “right of the people to peaceably to assemble”.

Right after that the ammendment says “and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances” and in Article 1 of the constitution it states…All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

The Security and Prosperity Parternership has not recieved its descision making power from congress nor the citizenry, it has not allowed for people involved to peacefully assemble in protest of it without altercation, it has not allowed the people to have a say in it by conducting their affairs in private and for all that it does not support the constitution of the United States nor the Democratic Republic that makes this country great. If the S.P.P. does not support our constitution there is no way it will supply the security nor the prosperity that it claims to be providing. In fact, it is in direct contradiction with the American way.

They say that things such as security and prosperity are subjective, meaning it is in the eyes of the beholder. One mans poverty is another mans prosperity. So who is to say that this group is going to provide either of those? This beholder is against this agenda!

Gated Communities- Bars of Safety or a Cell of Fear?

Large Gated Community in Texas     7 years ago I read a book called “No More Prisons” written by William “Upski” Wimsatt. In his book he brought up a very interesting idea that I had never considered before, a whole new view of something that I saw daily in the area I was living in. The impact was very substantial to me and it was that the public was so instilled with fear of one another that we chose to create prison cells around ourselves in order to feel safe.

As a youth I had always seen these gated communities as small metropolis of wealth in areas of poverty and despair. If I was to imagine anything symbolic about their place in a society it was simply that it was an exclusiveness abode for wealth. The gates seemed to taunt me that I was not worthy of entering. Well, that is not completely accurate because I did enter them many times but it was part of my job as security. Not exactly prestigious enough to alter my view that I was not welcome just so long as I was in service of the wealthy inhabitants. But this would all change.No More Prisons

His words pierced my heart and awoke me to feelings deep within that I had never considered in the past. The feeling that I was a prisoner in some way. I began to consider all the ways that I am a prisoner from my obsessive desire to be appreciated by others, to the manner in which I conducted relationships, to the fact that I was reading this book having left my home town to flee to the mountains. Instead of being surrounded by steel bars and an electric fence, I was surrounded by acres of Pines but the essence and reasoning was still the same, I was seeking isolation due to fear.

It was at this realization that something in me began to well up. I found myself actually weeping intensely not just over my own realization, but over the gravity of the effect this had on all of existence. It was because for the first time a reality had hit me that had for so long remained hidden from sight, yet it ruled my existence for as far back as I could remember. I knew that this was not just in my case, but in millions throughout the world. I stepped out onto my girlfriends balcony and peered over the city she lived in and I saw acres of walls and fences. I heard a car alarm screaming in the distance and noticed that the two largest buildings in the city were a hospital and a prison. One to protect your life from death and the other to protect life from you. I watched as a police officer cruised by on patrol. I heard the sound of people spanking a child in the apartments across from me as the child shrieked in pain. I set there staring at the city and tried to imagine what would happen if none of these objects of “safety” were not present. What if there were no prisons? That was a scary thought because there is so much evil in the hearts of people. But then again, what is the purpose of living if you are just going to be tormented by fear.

I grew up in economically disadvantaged areas most of my life. We were not necessarily poor by the standard set by those surrounding me, but certainly by the standard of your typical white family in America. As one of only two white kids riding the bus to school, I witnessed first hand the anger many races had toward white people in impoverished neighborhoods. Also, being a white person, I also witnessed the type of comments made by whites regarding other races. To say the least, I was not particularly sympathetic to any race. They all had their reasons of course. No good racist would be complete without some sort of logical excuse for their prejudice. Such is the case with all sorts of evil that I have witnessed. Nobody says that they are evil, they always have a reason for doing what they did. For the same reason that every criminal says they are innocent I suppose. Often it is justified as a retaliation for a wrong committed toward them. I witnessed street violence, domestic violence, and suffered abuses of my own. My fear growing up was intense, and perhaps by coincidence, so was my anger. The only thing that I can remember clearly about my decision to become so violent and self destructive was that I figured if I can’t beat them, I should join them. So I did. I eventually turned dark and angry enough to earn respect from some people that I can honestly say were dangerous. I felt powerful over my fear finally. I stopped fearing by embracing the anger to the point that I did not even fear the least bit, so I thought. I still look back in amazement at the fact that nothing made me more angry then when somebody provoked my fear or took notice of it. I became enraged in self defense and this was true with the gang members I would hang around. Nothing was more disgraceful then being fearful, even though we all were. We were literally slaves to our fear.

After having 7 guns pulled on me in only 5 years and realizing that I was on a fast lane to self destruction, I decided to clear my head by moving to the mountains. Looking back, it was probably the best decision I ever made. Though that was not exactly the immediate end to my destructive behavior, it did eventually lead me to some solid ground and massive soul searching. I began to read books for the first time in my life. That is when, among many others books, No More Prisons became a part of my reading list. It helped that I had a similar background as he did, being a white kid around other races. I had a time in graffiti and hip hop was very much a priority in my life. I was a b-boy for many years and felt that hip hop culture gave me a reason for living. His message was pure and straight from the heart. I was willing to hear it from him because he felt the same thing I did. I can say that book was significant in breaking many of the chains in my life. It allowed me to face my fears, to cry about my past, to be a human being and not feel that the goodness in me was weakness, but strength. It helped me become free by bringing my attention to the chains I had never noticed before. I realized the most important thing, that the reason there is so much evil in the world is because the fact that so many are too afraid to choose to be good. It is easier to embrace the anger and defend onces self then it is to turn the other cheek. I decided to have the courage to do that. Somebody has to start!

Well, I guess it is time for me to be heading off my soap box. So cue the sappy deep message music. After all, I could write for a very long time about such topics because all joking aside, I really care about this stuff. In my experience there have been only a few things that I can cling to as truth. Truth, Love and Freedom is certainly one of the things. The problem and one of the biggest misconceptions about freedom and how people perceive it. I believe that is due to what I call the dualistic nature of the world. We often try to define terms by looking to the opposites. We use light to define darkness, and darkness to define light. I believe that this is an error. Take freedom for example since that is what we are talking about here, well kinda. What is the opposite of freedom? Most would probably say Slavery. Slavery is defined as being in bondage against ones will. Well in order for freedom to be the opposite it seems only logical that all people would have to want to be free. Yet with all that claim to want freedom, the majority place themselves in prisons of various sorts; physical, mental and emotional. They are not prisons that prevent us from effecting others but from others effecting us. Yet just as Wimsatt said, “For every road and zoo and gated community and fence and lock and alarm system and prison we build, we are installing another prison cell in our hearts. “ We may be keeping people out, but we are in effect also keeping ourselves in. Therefor it is a prison and prison is not a happy place to be.

I have come to the conclusion though it would not make perfect sense to call fear the opposite of freedom, however it is certainly more of an inhibitor to freedom than anything else I can imagine. Fear is the fuel that allows tyranny and oppression to take hold. It is the catalyst for hatred and war. Ironically the only cure for fear is to face up to it. To tackle it head on regardless of the consequences and once we see that consequences are not as bad as bad as its fruit, it goes away. If we choose to isolate ourselves and not overcome this barrier, we will continue to increase the level of separation in our culture. That is what is so profound about the prisons of comfort we put ourselves into. It is an endless cycle that only perpetuates further separation, further fear and ultimately, further hate. So I challenge you to break some chains this week. I challenge you to find a complete stranger, hopefully one that you are afraid of, and talk to them. Perhaps it is somebody of another race or religion. Perhaps it is a biker or a gang member. I bet if you are nice to them they will be nice back. Give it a try, why not.

Soul Real Visits the Bohemian Grove

 Yesterday September 4th I , for the first time, visited the infamous Bohemian Grove in Monte Rio California while on my way home from a vacation. First let me say that the area is absolutely beautiful and we definitely enjoyed our trip there. Now, I have heard rumors about the Bohemian Grove and I was not sure what to think about it. My disagreements about it were based upon various beliefs I hold which are,

  • Politicians should not be meeting in secret anywhere
  •  if our politicans are there and the media knows about it, they should be obligated to report it to the people
  • Politicians should not be meeting with bankers, corporate heads or anybody else who has an interest in lobbying them without there being a full disclosure of what is discussed.

This is my opinion as I believe it is absolutely necessary to keep our elected representatives honest and without the temptation of a political buyout. So, I can say that I disagreed with the Bohemian Club being what it is but still had some skepticism about many of the claims such as the locals not talking about it and the heavy security. Now I am convinced by my experience and let me explain why.

Now, it was easy to find the Bohemian Highway that leads up to the grove because it is on one of the maybe 3 streets in Monte Rio. On our first attempt we ended up turning the wrong way because I had just assumed that it would be down the longer street. When we realized that we made a mistake we returned to Monte Rio. We stopped at a store in town and I decided to check to see how to get there and how far it would be. Since I was going to do that I decided to dig for info from the locals.

The first store I entered was a small market with various items and I asked the lady at the counter if she had ever heard of the Bohemian Grove. She asked me if I meant the Bohemian Highway and I said no, the Bohemian Grove. It is a place where very powerful men attend every year. About that time a young man in his early 30’s came into the store and I noticed that she was a bit nervous that I asked her. She sort of shook her head and then pointed to the guy who was now standing behind me with an item and said to ask him.  He looked at me and I asked, “have you ever heard of a place called the Bohemian Grove”. He sort of said something to the effect of, “um, oh, its like over there somewhere” (pointing). I asked really, “where exactly”? Go across the bridge and take a left on Bohemian Highway and it will dead end down there. I asked “do you know anything about it”? He said, “naw, just that it is over there if you want to find it”. He then cut the conversation off quickly and headed out of the store. The woman behind the counter seemed to be avoiding looking at me after that. I walked out a little disturbed by the encounter but really wanting to find somebody to talk to about it. I went to another store across the street and decided to buy a drink while I was there. I asked a man who did not understand me because he had hearing aids in his ears. I walked over to the counter and asked the guy behind the counter if he had heard of the Bohemian Grove in which he hesitantly said yes. There was a woman to the right of him stocking shelves and she immediately turned in attention to the discussion. I asked him what it was and he said it was just a mens club. I pressed him for more info by playing ignorant and asking if it is someplace you can pay to go in, or if it is open to the public. They then opened up a bit to me a bit and told me that famous people go there once a year. I told them I was considering moving into the area (it is true) and we really like the area. They then began to open up a lot and the guy told me of an encounter a couple of years ago where he and a friend were kayaking down the Russian River and decided to rest on a beach shore. As soon as they pulled there kayaks to the sand a couple of guys came down out of the trees on the ledge with guns and told them to leave immediately or they would be shot. I said NO WAY. They both shook their heads and the woman said “yeah man, all the most powerful men in the world go their. Its really protected”. I asked them what else they knew and they said that they hear rumors but it was obvious that they didn’t want to talk about it anymore. So I asked them how to get there. Then the woman said a couple of suspicious things. Call it the gumshoe in me, but I did find it too strange to ignore. She told me how to get to it, how far you could go before you would be stopped and then said that if I get in to tell her how I did it. I told her that there is no way I am trying. She then told me that she was going to have to research the history of that club someday. Now, what I found suspicious about that is that she at one point was naming attendees of the grove, she knows the date it happens every year, she has “heard rumors” about it, she had lived there much of her life and she never did research on it? He said he had been threatened to be killed and that many others had stories such as that and still, it provoked no interest to research it? She said she could see them flying people in with helicopters every year and if you saw these streets, there is no way you would not notice all the cars going into it. What is the most bizarre is that she knew how far one could make it in before being confronted at a guard booth. Lastly and certainly no least, when we went to find the entrance to the grove, it was less than a half mile down from the bridge. It was like, right there. That whole scenario just seemed weird.

So here we go approaching the grove. My wife is driving and as soon as you get to the property you see no trespassing, private property signs everywhere. It is not unlike my wife to ignore such signs and onto the property we went and I told her we should turn around and get out of there. Before I got the words out of my mouth, here comes a pickup truck hauling ass down an inside area for parking. We were no more than 20 feet in the grove and here comes somebody. As we were driving out onto the main road and back toward town I noticed through the trees that the truck was following us directly to our left. I had not noticed before but the parking lot and Bohemian property extended down the road a bit and it also had private property signs all over. My wife and myself had chills as we watched this truck literally drive directly beside us until the parking area came to an end verifying that we were being scoped because it then turned around and headed back.  FREAKY!

So that was my Bohemian Grove experience and I thought I should share it. The only other thing I have to say is that the town was full of very bizarre people and that gave it sort of a horror movie feeling. All I can say is, I did not expect the experience to be so weird, but it was and it my interest in the topic has been provoked. Don’t be surprised if I do a podcast on it soon.

How is Ron Paul Winning?

You hear them complaining that there is no way Ron Paul can be winning because the Republican base has shown through multiple polls that Ron is NOT their man. They claim that there are a small number of “Paulites” tampering with the polling by calling in multiple times. They say that Ron has no chance of winning the Republican party nor the Presidential Election. Perhaps this is true, but before jumping to such conclusions let me bring up a few points that I think are being overlooked regarding Ron’s popularity.

1) Half the population does not vote and many don’t because they are sick of the rhetoric of politicians who dodge important questions resorting to emotional responses rather than logic. Ron Paul has shown again and again that he is educated on the matters, he doesn’t use Rhetoric to gain popularity and has the most consistent record of any candidate in this election. Could it be that many of these “non-voters” see a man worth voting for and are supporting him?

2) There are many conservatives who have left the party because of the effect of Neo-conservatism on the Republican Party. These classic conservatives would vote for Ron no matter what party he runs as just as long as he continues representing their values. It is known that there is a surge of people registering republican just to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries.

3) Democrats watch the debates and they could be voting for the “only anti-war republican”. I mean, does the polling options have the ability to screen liberals? Honestly, this should be an obvious possibility.

4) Why isn’t anybody asking the question of why doesn’t any other candidate have such support? I mean, a whole bunch of support is claimed for the other candidates such as Guliani, Romney and McCain, but yet they keep losing in the polls. Why does Ron seem to be getting more enthusiasm from his supporters if they are polling multiple votes?

5) All the polls showing that only 3% of the Republican party supports Ron Paul consists of all the members who did not leave the party (which is a lot) and who continue to support the war in Iraq (which is very little). Could it be that the 97% of the Republican party who do not support Ron Paul but who only consists of less than 30% war supporters of the voting population of the United States, are not casting enough votes to keep up with the support Ron Paul is getting from the millions who watch the debate from all political positions?

Well, the answer to this question according to Hannity and others at Fox News is No. There is obviously a conspiracy by the 3% of Ron Paul supporters to change the results of the polls in favor of Ron. But even then, where are all those enthusiastic supporters in favor of the other candidates?
